Puddle Duck Day School | Curriculum
Puddle Duck’s curriculum ideas and activities are developed weekly by the staff that are working individually with the children in the classroom for which it is designed. They are able to integrate the needs of each child into the curriculum they are developing. Administration and teachers work together to come up with curriculum plans that are fresh, engaging, fun, and stimulating for the children. In addition to the administration, Puddle Duck Day School has an onsite curriculum consultant, who works closely with the staff. We plan our curriculums around a monthly theme. The monthly theme is then incorporated into all areas and activities in the classroom.
Each day the children participate in group time, art and cooking activities, music and movement, small and large motor, math and science as well as language arts and stories.
The curriculums are also developed with the developmental stages of the classroom in mind. The teachers plan knowing what is appropriate for the age they work with to be participating in for activities and lessons. Each classroom, including infants and toddlers have a weekly curriculum plan that the staff and children participate in. Puddle Duck believes a well planned curriculum is essential to the happiness and harmony of our school.
We plan our curriculums around a monthly theme. The monthly theme is then incorporated into all areas and activities in the classroom. Activities are planned implementing the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks relevant to the subject area being taught.
